Studio Calico... February

I just LOVEd the February kit from Studio Calico and wish I had purchased all three add-ons. I'm kicking myself that i didn't. I wasn't very wise, lol (Wisdom being the one add-on I didn't get). That said, the hustle and bustle of CHA and Disneyland kept me from spending too much quality time with my kit, so I guess it worked out for the best that there wasn't as much to work with.

I took these photos of my girls at my neice's birthday party last fall. They were running around so much in the late afternoon that between motion blur and harsh sunlight, I wasn't able to get many good photographs. That said, printing them smaller and grouping 4 of them together had a great effect and I'm glad I got the moment documented and it looks okay.

I'm a repositioner, so stamps and rubons are normally a challnge for me. That said, this long border stamp worked perfectly with this paper, and the black against the bold pink/red color was striking when paired with the orange in the photos and trim.

I used the MM heart die cut for my stitched heart. I pierced holes in it and then placed it over the patterned paper at the top and pierced holes in it again. I then removed it and stitched both. I was inspired by the movie of the same name for my title. It's appropriate as Morgan and I have our moments, but I still love her to the moon and back.

These heart pocket purse was super easy. I think Morgan is going to use these for Valentine treats for her classmates.

Morgan and her cousin Raegan are like twins separated at birth. They love each other soooo much. It's super cute. I never had cousins this close in age or this close in geographical location that I could have had a relationship like this with so it's been fun to watch.

I used the SC stamps from the main kit for this card. I love the possibilites! They are just over 1.75 inches wide and just under 1.25 inches tall.

This last one was my FAVORITE this month. Favorite in a long time, actually. Morgan got these gel pens for Christmas and the first thing she created were these butterflies. When I saw them drying I immediately stashed them away. I love them so much I had to preserve them. She draws butterflies all the time so they often get destroyed before the next batch is finished. These matched the kit so well I had to use them! They are also my favorites yet. She is such a great artist.

The scallop at the bottom was made with Claudine Hellmuth's green paint and the white paper bag that the add-ons came in. I just painted, trimmed scallops, layered and adhered.

Such a fun kit! And I'll give you a hint about next month. I bought it ALL. lol

I'll leave you with some pics of the sandwich. It was so nice to still be referred to as such, even though I wasn't with the group this month and it was more like the Kirsty Stephwich. I still love my Nick's. Here we are in our Pink Paislee issue work shirts, lol, in front of the Pink Paislee booth at the show. We had an opportunity to work together at the booth on Sunday.

Have a great day! Davinie

Some CHA favorites

I was only at the show for a short while, but one of my favorite new products was easy to see. It just happens to come from my boss lady at Pink Paislee. They are sticker books. The first page is several journaling spots, the second page is a few border stickers, and the third page is a fun tiny sticker alpha. I thought they were such a fun pop of color for any layout. On my Free Spirit layout, I used a journaling spot and the sticker alphas for some of my journaling:

And for my Delight layout I used a border sticker as well as a couple of the alphas. I trimmed a thin piece of patterned paper and weaved it through.

I thought they were a great value and the alpha on the last page really seals the deal when considering a purchase.

Another company who's winter release I just LOVED was Cosmo Cricket. I thought all four new releases were just fabulous. Snorkel is going to be great for beach photos and even some of the Disney photos I just took. Girl Friday has my favorite color combo for girls, with pink, blue, and orange. It even has some green in there which is super cool. Li'l Man is NOT just for boys, as I already have tons of ideas for this line. Very versatile. Love the red with the cream and the orange and a great shade of blue. The last line really surprised me. Ever After is their new wedding line and I LOVE it. It has a grey/silver with orange and a lovely steel blue. Cosmo is always fairly whimsical but this line is just gorgeous and was my favorite themed line from the show. The beautiful thing about it is that it will work for other photos besides wedding photos. The patterns were floral or stripes, and the word strips were about love, and not just saying "I do" and wedding bells, etc. I just loved all of it. The ribbon was also delicious and I'm a fan of the stickers too.

I'll be back with more faves and plenty of Disney action, should you be planning a trip. My sister managed to capture some fun videos of myself and the girls on various rides and they just crack me up. I haven't edited my photos yet either, and I took several hundred. It was such a great trip!

Have a great day! Davinie

ETA: I just had to add a little Disney, lol. Morgan rode on this ride in California Adventure that was called Mulholland Madness or something like that. She went on it 4 times and just loved it, so the 5th time, my sister took her video camera to capture the action. Turns out that the 5th time was one time too many, lol. She's still a cutie though. And yes, of course, she's sitting with dad. :) When Alyca realized she was getting upset, she stopped filming. Poor girl. This was also our last day, so it might have just been the park starting to catch up with her.

I am home!

We flew in at about 6pm last night.
I am beat.
We had a BLAST. We are already planning our next trip. Likely in 2011!
We left the hotel after breakfast and returned somewhere between 8-10pm every night. Every night! With an almost 3 and 5 year old!
We had so much fun.
I had a great time with my girls at CHA too.
Next time I won't schedule the best family vacation at the same time as a gathering for my creative passion. It was really hard being one place and wanting to be at the other at the same time. That said, I got to hug my sandwich, meet some of my SC girls in real life for the first time, spent an afternoon at the Pink Paislee booth while at the show, and went out to dinner with my crew on Monday night. April has some video's on her blog and you can even spy a little glimpse of my hubby too. I LOVED being able to introduce Steve to the people I talk about all the time.
I'll have photos and stories to share later, but right now, I've got a pile of laundry to do and some work to catch up on.

So sad and glad to be home!

Davinie

P.S. The Studio Calico kit went on sale last night. I hope you had a minute to check it out! The SC exclusive papers in this month's kit, as well as the best set of stamps yet, were in the main kit.

Disneyland and CHA in the same week!

I can't believe it!
I'm actually the mother of a five year old.
I can't believe it finally happened.
Yesterday she woke up and even LOOKED like a five year old. Of course she's been acting like she was 13 for a while now, but to even look older, well it just about broke my heart, lol.

Because of Disneyland later this week we didn't really get her anything for her birthday, thinking she'll just pick something that she loves at an expensive gift shop, lol, but I did get her a couple of goodies. Her favorite gift from the whole day? Bubble tape. I must keep that in mind. Who knew! It was a last minute impulsive purchase at the check out line, and she's carrying it around like gold. It goes to show that it isn't the amount of money you spend....

The first thing she did when she woke up was don her Fancy Nancy dress that she got for Christmas, and the tiara that I purchased and had sitting on the kitchen table, waiting for her, with a massive pile of balloons, an annual tradition.

She told me that she was five, and that she needed to talk to her teachers at school and say goodbye, because she was off to Kindergarten now. lol.

Happy Birthday Princess Morgan! I love ya with my whole heart.

In the meantime... we are headed south on the 6am bird tomorrow.
I feel whackadoodle even saying that. I'm not sure why we scheduled such an early flight with little kids, but I think it's because we saved a ton of air miles, and to fly later in the day would have put us in California later in the afternoon which is basically a waste of a day. We want to get this party started! At this rate we'll be there before lunch, which is perfect.

My sister is bringing her laptop so I may check in from the hotel. I'm going to try and scope out some goodies to giveaway. Maybe. We'll see. Either way, I'm going to get some photos and share my favorite CHA goods when I get home.

For now it's off to Cinderella's castle. I don't think the girls quite understand what's in store. We have every possible weather outfit packed though, so we are good to go!

Have a great week!

Cardalicious is a wee bit digi

I have a bit of a digi/hybrid post for you today. I wanted to share my card for the Cardalicious challenge this week. This week's challenge was to use a circle, a flower, and sparkles.

I used a circle punch, and covered a brad with stickles.
I also used a fun digital kit from Danielle Thompson.
This one is for paper artists, like moi, and is called Matilda.
The digital version is available here.

The best thing about this card is that it was created using one piece of cardstock. I used white for the base and then printed the other patterns in the sizes I needed on the remaining cardstock.

Speaking of Danielle Thompson, she was gracious enough to post some great digital tutorials on the Kitschy blog.

The first tutorial is about how to add a photo to a digital frame.

The second tutorial is about how to recolor a digital frame.

The third tutorial is about how to recolor a digital frame with duo tones.

I hope you find these useful! I am a paper artist for sure but some of these tutorials really interest me for hybrid work.

On another note, I hope you'll be checking the Pink Paislee blog today. They are sharing the new Enchanting mini line within the Winsome Collection. I was lucky to work with this one as part of my CHA projects for the Pink Paislee booth. You might spy a delightful little girl in one of the photos. Check it out and leave a comment here to have a chance at some PP goodness.

Have a great day! Today is Morgan's 5th birthday! She is so excited! She's already up and dressed in a purple Fancy Nancy dress that she got for Christmas, and a fuzzy pink crown that surprised her at the kitchen table this morning. I can't believe she's 5.

Garden Projects

Top of the Mornin' to ya.
I am knee deep in Studio Calico and Pink Paislee CHA projects, but wanted to pop in and share my Garden schtuff from 2peas.
As I said before, it was an absolute honor to be asked to create for the Garden this month. I've decided that even though at the time I was a little worried about time constraints, what with my holiday vacation and Christmas, it was a great way to welcome 2009.

I didn't want to do a photo overload, so if you are interested, you can see the detailed shots of my layouts at the GGG gallery here.

The theme for January was "Inspiration: Myself" which had me in panic mode, lol. I don't normally do layouts about myself. And I don't have a ton of photos with my mug in them! I decided to start by taking a photo of myself in the bathroom mirror with my camera. This is what I look like to my family most of the time, lol, so I figured it should be documented!

I used my Slice and the Noteworthy Cartridge for most of the title. That cartridge is the reason I bought a Slice in the first place. Love it.

I am also still obsessed with that cloud paper from October Afternoon so I used the cloud shape as an inspiration for my clouds, and then I used the actual paper for my journaling strips.

This next layout is circa... 1984? When my paren'ts first separated, my mom packed up all the kids and we lived on the island of Oahu in Hawaii for a year. She went to college for a year, and we Alaskaan kiddos learned about sweatshirts in December, and left our parkas at home. I took a tap/baton combo class, and had a blast, as you might be able to tell from my saucy stance in my control top pantyhose. hahaha.

I'm really quite the introvert, so it's crazy to me how much I loved to perform. I wish I was still that comfortable in front of a big crowd, but alas, I am NOT. lol

2009 meant resolutions and I decided to do something different with that. First I downloaded Kate Teague's pillow box template, because while I have made these on my own before, it's so much easier to print out her template in the size I desire and just trim it out.
I then wrote a letter to myself. I wrote about my goals for the year, for myself, for my family, for whatever.
I'm not going to open this box until 1/1/10. I wonder what it will seem like, getting advice from my past self. And I wonder how much I will have changed in a year. I'm anxious to get to it, not that i want to be any older. ugh.

My last layout for the Garden was about something I love to do for me. A couple of months ago I took my first knitting class. I'm a lefty so it's been hard to learn from my MIL, and while I have found a couple of good videos on youtube, I spend enough time in front of this computer, surfing and actually working, as my part-time job involves a computer, so I wanted to do something that involved sitting next to warm bodies, lol.
I took a class through Gossamer Knitting and loved it. I haven't had time to do more than knit on some scarves, but I'm happy with how it's going so far, and I'll take another class soon to learn a new stitch, lol. Someday I want to... cable. haha. Speaking of which, if you are a knitter or love to crochet and are looking for an online community to get ideas and bond, check out Ravelry.

These next two were for the mid-month gallery, but there is a bit of confusion, so I'm not sure where they are. I want to share them anyway, though.
I took a couple of cute photos of my cuties in their New Years hats, so did a layout about the big things that are going to happen in 2009, like their 5th and 3rd birthdays, Disneyland, getting RID of the binkie, getting potty trained for preschool, and Kindergarten.

As you know, my word for 2009 is ORGANIZE. Part of that is getting my house in order. Now that our downstairs is functioning, we needed more furniture, which meant that we had to go out and buy a new couch. I was so excited because I've never purchased a new one before. Our last couch was purchased from our neighbor who was moving, right before we got married. That was in 2000!
Do you call yours a couch? I've always referred to it as the couch, but when we were shopping, they always pointed us to the Sofa's and Loveseats. We bought a set, and yes, that's the Loveseat, but it fit the frame better in my photo, so I used it.
Very excited! Let's not talk about the set we brought home, set up, and then HATED and returned. Nope. Not talking about that fiasco. ha ha.

Before I go I wanted to direct you to a fun giveaway! Pink Paislee has started showing their new lines for CHA. Today it's the Fetching line. Jet over there and post for a chance to receive the new line. It's so fun! You can check it out here.

Have a great Monday! Davinie

Saturday Sneaks

Gal dang the weather is whackadoodle around here. It's 60 degrees one minute, and then the fog settles in and there's a heavy frost and we are in our 20's. Apparantly the last four flights last night couldn't even land at the airport here. I'm trying to pack for CHA/Disneyland next week, and one second there's rain, and the next it's 80 degrees and sunny in Anaheim. It's a good thing we can check 4 bags for free... I might need to take everything!

I managed to get in some good scrappy time last night. I rented a couple of chick flicks and settled in my scrapbook room after the kids went to bed. Steve was on shift. I finally saw Baby Mama and the Duchess. Both were really good.

Without further ado, the sneaks: I bought two of the three add-ons, but should have gone for the whole thing as I usually do. The kit this month is once again, Fabulous! And the SC exclusive papers totally rock.

In just a minute I'll be moving on to Pink Paislee projects for CHA. These new lines are delicious! Have you seen a little peek yet? You can check them out here. I get to work with the line they are featuring in that blog post for one of my CHA projects. That line is called Fascinating.

Have a great weekend! We are taking the girls bowling for the first time tomorrow as part of the celebration of Morgan's 5th birthday, which is on Tuesday. I can't believe she's already 5!

The mustaches and a little love

The other day I decided to do a layout just for me. I wanted to do a layout about the silly mustache challenge because the photos crack me up so much!
This week, the challenge at the Garden was to do a layout with photo corners. I had one lonely little photo corner in my Making Memories Passport suitcase that was part of the July "Via Airmail" kit from Studio Calico, so I trimmed it in half and used one on the upper corner behind my photos, and the other on the lower corner after my title. Between that and the journaling stickers, I have my visual triangle.

I might have to do this layout 3 more times so that I can give one to my sister's and my brother. I really like these photos and this challenge was so fun!

Growing up I always felt bad for my brother, raised in a single parent household with a mama and three sisters. But look at him now! Even though he didn't get to pick them out, he is fortunate to now have three brothers to count on.

I love that.

I had my "Forward Motion" layout picked up for the Showcase section of the June issue of Scrapbook Trends. I hope he doesn't mind his mug in a magazine. I really hope he can see how much I care about him through that layout.

Anyway, I wanted to share one last thing before I go. Sweet Lisa Pace is offering a class with several Valentine's projects called Cupid's Workshop. Classes started today but the forum and message board and all the instructions will be available through Valentines Day. I just saw the first project today and it is so stinkin' cute! If you want to check out the class and get a peek at Lisa's creativity, check it out here.

Have a great Thursday! Grey's Anatomy is ON tonight! I wonder what that serial killer is going to do.... love Eric Stolz. Remember him from "Some kind of Wonderful?" Love that movie.

Loose ends.....

I know I said I'd share my Garden layouts today... but I promise I'll do that soon. I just sent a few more projects in for the mid-month garden, so I'll just share everything at the same time. I'm guessing the 15th.

I just wanted to make sure you tune in tomorrow night if you are interested in a February kit from Studio Calico. I just received my box and i do believe it's my favorite! EVER. SC has more exclusive papers in this month's kit and they have totally outdone themselves. There is a lot of talent in their collective brains at SC headquarters in Kentucky. wowee.

Pop in for a chance to win a yummy goodie pack from Cosmo Cricket, and after you post on the blog, jet over to the chat with Maggie Holmes. I'm so excited to get a chance to pick her brain. I just love her work!

I wanted to quickly leave you with my card for the 9th challenge at the Cardalicious blog. The challenge this week was a "for you" card, with letter stickers, and the color green. A lot of fun! I used some yummy October Afternoon here with a dash of Scenic Route. I also rediscovered a fun Martha Stewart cornice border punch. So happy to be back from Christmas break for more card inspiration.

Have a great week! Davinie

Humor Me.....

In mid-December, just before I left for 5 days to the beach, I received a wonderful opportunity. Mellypea from 2peas asked me if I'd be interested in being the Guest Garden Girl for January. I tell ya, I just about had a heart attack, lol! What an awesome opportunity to receive, and what an extremely difficult time of year to receive it! As you saw in my last post, I haven't been the most organized person, so gearing up to leave fo 5 days, making sure my other deadlines were met including those at the office, my "real job", was very overwhelming and crazy to say the least. But of course, I said YES. I had to say yes! I was so excited to say YES! I had a short amount of time to work on projects before I left for the beach, and when I got home, I sent the family to my in-laws for the day, and in just one day, created moste of the other projects for the garden. The deadline was just the next day so that the galleries could be created and allow for a Chrsitmas break for those who work so hard at 2peas.
It was really hard to keep my secret, but I did my best!
Since my news has been revealed at 2peas, I have received some of the sweetest emails from friends, and it has made this experience even better. I thank all of those who have said something soooo much.
Just recently there have been banners popping up with my mug on it, which makes me jump every time, lol. I don't normally do all about me layouts, so to be tasked with the subject "inspiration-myself" as the January garden theme was stressful! I decided to do a layout of myself with my camera, because that's what I look like to the rest of my famly, lol. I'm never in the photos, I'm just the one taking the 20,000+ photos that fill my adobe album every year.
Anyway, the other day I saw a vertical banner, and I decided to do print screens, because it'll probably be the only time you'll see my face and my name on that site. Good grief! I had to record it for prosperity! ha haha.

I was sooooo excited to be asked to guest design. I'll have a couple more projects for the mid-month gallery that are due in a couple of days. Tomorrow I'll share the projects that went live on the 1st.

And then it's time to get ready for CHA! I just spied the new releases from Pink Paislee and they are by FARRRRRR my favorite releases yet! I am so excited to get my box. Only 12 more days until the family and I jet to California for crafts and Disneyland! woot! Oh my goodness, I just typed that and started freaking out. 12. more. days. that's it.

Off to work.

ORGANIZE

That Ali Edwards is one smart cookie.
I bow down to her insight and look forward to any new idea she has up her sleeves.
Who knew the power that choosing a single word to focus on would have on your daily life?
Did you choose a word for 2009, a word to help bring clarity or fun to the day to day?
My word for 2009 is Organize.
I'm a procrastinator. It is often at the last minute that I get my act together and get things done. And I HATE that, because with my husband's schedule, there are often unforeseen obstacles that interfere with that last minute, which takes away a lot of my joy. And I'm not just talking about scrapbooking. For example, if I kept the house clean all the time it wouldn't freak me out to have unannounced company. Or if I watered the plants regularly, they would always look beautiful, instead of that pathetic droop that often greets me as a reminder to grab the watering can.
I have come to realize that my whole life has been cluttered for quite a while, and it just occurred to me where it stems from.
In late 2005, when I was 6 months pregnant with Payton, we bought a new house. We were spoiled with our first house. It was brand new. It was about 1500 square feet. It had a decent backyard. But it was in a subdivision and there wasn't RV parking or a place for Steve to spread out and have a shop, etc., etc. So we looked and looked and finally, Steve found what he thought would be the ideal setup for us and our budget. We wanted to keep our first house as a rental, so we didn't have a lot of money for a down payment, so we went for the maximum we could afford.
I live in a resort community, which means that housing is rather expensive. But we found a place on 2 acres just outside city limits, which meant we had space for that RV, a boat, and room for a shop. It also meant we had space to stretch our legs and a little "farm" for our kiddos. But because of the location, location, location, we had to sacrifice in a very important area.... the HOUSE. Steve's dad is a licensed contractor, so Steve wasn't worried about the house. It was built in 1980 by an environmentally friendly ham radio operator, so it has the sloped roof for solar panels, and is considered "green" with a man-made burm (Is that how you spell it?) up against the house for energy conservation, etc. It is an ODD looking house. But it's square. Steve said it wouldn't take much to lift the roof off and change the whole thing.
So in late 2005, 6 months pregnant with my second child, I moved into a house that needed a LOT of work. 1100 of the 2200 square feet of the existing home was considered an unfinished basement.
For the last 3 years we have put a lot of money and time into this house, and it still isn't finished. And we aren't financially ready to add-on yet. And now we have two children, and we all know that going from 1 to 2 is more than twice as hard, or at least, I think so! lol
So things have been unorganized and overwhelming and cluttered for three years now. If I get overwhelmed, I am one those people who just stands there, paralyzed. Sometimes I can't see a clear place to start, when there is so much to focus on.
But 2009 is the year where that changes. It is the year I make a fresh start and take charge in how things go.
I got a notebook and have started making lists. Even something as simple as emptying the dishwasher is written down there, because I feel a big sense of accomplishment when I cross something off and look at the list at the end of the day.
We made the house a priority this year. Last year we were gone traveling and camping far too much. This year we are going to finish a few things. We need to put up new fencing because our steers wreaked havoc last year. We need to figure out what to do about the yard, because my yard wasn't properly cared for previously and not all of the grass growing is lawn grass. We need to finish putting up TRIM. We made a lot of progress because we are now living in all 2200 square feet of our home, but we need to keep pushing and finish all of the projects that we have already started.
I need to focus on the kids. They are only young once, so I need to do better about making them #1. Sometimes I feel like I push them off to the side with a cartoon or a craft project so that I can focus elsewhere, when what I need to do is drop everything and give them 100%. There is going to be more of that in 2009.
So that's it. 2009 I shall be organized! That's one reason I'm doing that 2009 layout challenge. I'm not organized enough for 365 photos, but I am going to be organized enough for 12 layouts highlighting my whole year.

What's your word?

The Challenge......

I can't believe we are already into January! In a few short weeks I have Morgan's 5th birthday, CHA, and Disneyland! We still have Christmas decorations to put away! Is anyone else in the same boat as me? It's practically time to get Valentines together for Morgan's school party! At least it feels that way....
When I first started my December daily album it really helped get me in the holiday spirit. Unfortunately, the rest of the month whipped by so fast I didn't finish it!
I hate feeling like I "failed" at something... I don't like to start things and not finish them. That's why I didn't really make a New Years Resolution. One of my projects for the 2peas Garden this month was a pillow box. Inside is a letter to myself. I wrote it to my future self and on 1.1.10 I'm going to open the box and read it again. I wrote about my personal goals for the New Year, and I'm anxious to see what kind of person I am on 1.1.10 when I read my letter again. I hope I am an improved and happy girl! In it I wrote about things I hope to accomplish for myself and the kids, and things like that. Not specific goals like "I hope to lose 15 pounds" or anything like that. Just general things like wanting to work out more, and working out towards a certain number of times per week. And cooking more. And making hair appointments at 7-8 weeks rather than when my roots are driving me nuts. lol
With attainable goals in mind, I wanted to pursue another project in my family record keeping. I first talked about it in this post. I admire anyone who was able to do Project 365 and take a photo a day. I honestly could never do it. I didn't even finish my December Daily! But I love the concept and the idea of summarizing your daily life.
The December kit at Studio Calico had a package of Jenni Bowlin 6x6 calendar cards. At the time I didn't know what to do with them, because they were for 2009. And they weren't large enough to use for a family calendar. And I don't have a place to set them as a desk calendar or anything. Instead, I decided to pursue my own project for 2009.
The concept is this. Whether you take one photo in a month, or 30, it doesn't matter. The object of the "game" is to record your life. And at the end of every month, you go through the photos you have taken, and do a layout summarizing the happenings that month.
My plan is to do 2 page layouts, and use the JB cards each month. At the end of the year I plan to turn my 12 layouts into an album for 2009. I thought that would be fun. There was a discussion similar to this on 2peas and someone called it Project 12. I love that idea. But I think I'll have to come up with another name for it....
You could use the cards on each layout as part of the design, or you could even use the cards in your 2009 album as a page divider for each month. Maybe you mount them on cardstock. Maybe you put them on a transparency. Maybe you punch a hole in one corner and just put them in front of your monthly layout. It doesn't matter. I just thought it would be fun to use them with your monthly layouts.
I thought it might also be fun to make this a monthly challenge here. And because they are so super cool, I even have a very generous sponsor for January.
This is the challenge: Do a layout for January. Link me to it by February 15. I'll start a thread on February 1st to link to. After that I will draw a winner from those who participated and you will get a fun prize for playing along.
How does that sound?
To start, I wanted to give away a set of the Jenni Bowlin calendar cards:

You don't have to use these with your layouts... I just wanted to share what I'm going to use for mine. And you don't even have to play along with the monthly challenge, but I hope you will! Leave me a comment here about what you are doing this weekend, and I'll draw a winner at the first of the week.
Steve and I didn't have any luck finding a couch the other day, so we are taking the kids to the inlaws and hunting again today. We really need one! We are hoping to make it a long afternoon and have plans to go see Benjamin Button if we find something. I hear it's 3 hours long, though, so we might be cutting it tight on time. But I really want to see Brad Pitt! lol Last night I somehow fell into watching Legends of the Fall, and I'm allllll over some more Brad Pitt lovin' today. hee heeee.

Wish us luck! Happy New Year!

Pinching myself.....

You might say I'm starting 2009 on a great scrappy foot, lol. Good. Grief.

First there was this.

Then there was this, which was pretty cool. I hope you'll play along, because that sketch was a lot of fun and a GREAT way to use up those scraps....

And at the last minute, there was this.

I am over the moon, I tell ya!

I have a ton of things to talk about but I had a very busy day yesterday, and I'm about to jet out of the house to the office to put in some face time for a few hours. I'll be back this weekend, maybe later today with several projects to share and more details on my 2009 layout challenge. I'm going to have a quick giveaway this weekend for that. But more on that later.

Thank you for all the well wishes! I really appreciate it very much! It's hard to stick your neck out sometimes where people can see it. Know what I mean?

:)
