Studio Calico, January

EEk! I'm already behind and a resolution for 2008 was to keep on top of my blog! Okay, I'll be back later with a lot more Fiero happenings, but for now I'm going to post my projects with the January kit from Studio Calico. We had a lot of Collage Press goodies in this kit thanks to Miss Brains Nicole and her obsession, and I'm so glad she pointed it out! Both sides of each paper is amazing. It was really hard for me to cut anything up!

8 1/2 x 11! I don't do these very often but I am going to start doing more! It was fun working with a smaller pallette.
I put my Heidi Swapp buttefly mask on black cardstock, painted it with blue paint, and then trimmed it out. I like the dimensional look of the trimmed mask, almost like a great big die cut.

Morgan actually ASKED me to take a photo of her. I almost fell over. I decided to use it as an opportunity to do a two pager and to encourage her independent personality.

I used Heidi Swapp ghost butterflies on this layout. They don't stand out in the photos but they offer a nice texture when you look at the layout live.

Spontaneous hugs are the best! I got a little crazy with this layout, but I still like how it turned out. I just turned the dictionary page on the side because I liked the texture it offered. It didn't really matter what it said.

Scarlet did all the yoyo's for this kit. Super cool!

I thought the kI made some great grass. The background notebook paper is a journaling card from Collage Press. My flowers are CP too.

I loved this quote rubon with my butterfly which was just pressed into an opaque white Stazon ink pad. Butterflies are about creating and reinventing yourself, right? I used my new Fiskars Desktop Rotary trimmer and the scallop blade for the bottom of this card. It cuts like a dream, as evidenced by the booboo on my finger when I had it in the wrong spot while changing out the blade. Oops!

LOVE this Collage Press! I should send this card to them! lol
Studio Calico always wraps their packages up with this great string. I love to use every last little bit on my cards. It's a nice detail without the bulk of ribbon.
Thanks for taking a peek! Have a great weekend!
