29 again........

Well, yesterday was my birthday. The big 29. Again. And again and again. I'm still not ready to be in my 30's. I still can't believe that I'm old enough to have given birth to someone who could be graduating from high school. I'm not such a parent, but I could be and that just freaks me out. I mean, I feel like I just came from high school!

It was a pretty low key day. The day before Steve handed me some dough and I took the afternoon off from mama duties and did a little shopping. I went to my LSS and bought some of this:

Jenni Bowlin Tangerine Dream. DElish.

And I got some of this:

Making Memories Garden Party. I really like all the blossoms and buttons.... great for cards.

After my LSS I zipped over to Michaels and picked up some Martha. By that I mean this:

and this:

Sometimes it's such a booger to trim things out myself, so I thought I'd pick up a few punches. The girls at SC have been gaga for the butterfly punch, so much so that they reeled me in and I had to go get one for myself.

I also picked up a couple of things to alter and then went to Target and did the same.

I also picked up a new book. I just finished the Time Traveler's Wife which was very good, so now I've moved on to The Other Boelyn Girl. It's just been made into a movie starring Natalie Portman and Scarlet Johansen, so I want to read the book first before I see it. I just adore this time period so I'm glad I heard about this book.

For my actual birthday I didn't really get much from the fam. I had already been busy shopping for myself lately... a 50mm lens for my camera, these shoes for CHA, which were super comfy and will last forever....

So I wasn't really expecting anything. Steve's parents got me these albums from Martha:

I first thought an 18x18 album was way too big, but then I decided that they were a great size for the girls' artwork. I got two so I am pretty excited about filling them up, especially for Payton, who is just starting to create artwork to save.

When it came time to open Morgan's present, she was pretty excited. I was elated, because she wrote "MOM" on her card. That's the first word she's written besides her name, and even though it was easy, I was very happy that she did it on her own. She and dad went to the store and she picked out a necklace for me. It was a great big 1x2 ruby dress up necklace. I put it on, we ooh'd and ahh'd over it... and then she took it off me and ran off to "keep it safe" in her jewelry box. lol I haven't seen it since. How convenient was that gift? Silly girl.
Steve and Morgan made my cake for me and then we all decorated it together.

Everybody had their hand in it. Morgan even spelled out Mom without anyone asking her to, which made my day, obviously. It was very sweet of them.

And here I am. Me. 29+++. Steve took my photo. Phew. I was having a better hair day. lol

Lastly, I'll leave you with a little piece of heaven I heard last night. Tell me you watched American Idol! Holy Cannoli I *heart* that sweet David Archuleta. Take a listen and I'm sure you'll agree. I tear up every time! So I had to search it out on youtube and tear up again, lol. He has a beautiful voice.

Have a great rest of the week! Tonight is Reveal Night at Studio Calico! Be there! AND it's Project Runway night! Who will make it to Bryant Park? My guess is that Rami will make it, but I really want Chris to make it because I think he's hysterical and has a big talent.... but in the end, my guess is that Christian wins it, although I am very anxious to see Jillian's collection. :) I just love that show. Every time I'm creating and under duress, lol, or under a tight deadline or what have you, I just think of Tim Gunn, and I "make it work". lol
