Another Day......

I can't believe it's already Thursday! I am STILL doing laundry. Why must small children wear so many different outfits in one day? I just don't get it.

Anyway... today Steve is at work, the thunder and lightning are moving through, which means fires, which means today is a busy day for him. I hope he has a good day, but not a really busy day, and that his night is quiet. Tomorrow morning we are headed on a 5 1/2 hour drive to a Dude ranch in California for a family reunion! August is a really busy month for us. My kids are really looking forward to the possibility of going for a ride on a big horse, not just a pony. Their bike helmets are already packed, lol.

Before I leave I wanted to share a few things. Jenn has been doing a post on the DT scrap spaces on the Studio Calico blog. Unfortunately, my space isn't finished so I just sent her a couple of images of some of the old stuff I have my things organized in, and a home decor item I made for my room. I thought I'd share a little more about them here.

First, there's this:

I found this old window at a local antique store. It was a mess, and I love it. I pink washed it a bit, and then framed a piece of artwork I've been working on.

I just love this saying, so I hand stitched it onto fabric and then made little houses. I used a Pink Paislee tree stamp, and tons of vintage goodies from Steve's grandmother's estate... the doilies, many of the buttons, sequins.... I just love it and it hangs on the wall in my scrapbook room. Or at least it will when it's all finished, lol. I painted the walls in my room blue, which matches the blue in these houses.

I have three or four of these lunchboxes. I just love them. I use this one to store my scissors, pens, things like that. It sits at the desk.

I also have several of these milk crates. My mom had these and decided she didn't need them anymore. She lives in a small home in Portland, so when she redecorates, she gives a lot of her stuff away, lol. She's a big fan of antiques too, and is always coming up with some great finds.

I store my SC kits in these. I just love them.

I got this jar with the wooden lid at Goodwill for about a $1. I like the look of mismatched jars so I pick one or two up every time I'm junking around in that store. Obviously, this one has glue sticks in it, lol. I have other with buttons, ribbons scraps, etc.

I just picked this up the other day, which is why it's a mess. Apparently it was in someones garage or shop. I'm going to strip it down and shabby it up and use it for small bits like brads, etc.

Lastly is one of my windows. As you can see by the first photo, I'm a fan of windows. I have a ton of them throughout my house. Someday soon I'll give you a pictorial of a few of them. I just got an old, matching pair, and they are being used as my bathroom mirrors downstairs. Love em!

So that's a little bit about some of the junk around my house. I'm a huge fan of repurposed junk, al a Junk Beautiful and am always on the hunt for a way to use old things.

Tomorrow I'm going to post some of my Pink Paislee projects for the month, but right now I'll leave you with a layout I made last night with my favorite new line from CHA, Mr Campy. This is a photo of Payton last week at the river when we were camped at the coast. I just love this girls' spirit! It just occurred to me that I may have used this title on a layout within the last few months, but I've decided to leave it. I would hope that I'm always coming across Precious Moments to document, you know? That's what life, motherhood, and love for your kiddos is all about.

Have a great Thursday!

I have a question and I am not being obnoxious. I truly would like to know. Why are you so hated over at Scrap Smack? It's disturbing!
