Fun at the Beach!

So we loaded up the trailer and headed to the coast, just North of Tillamook. Because our schedules aren't typical due to Steve's job as a fireman, we reserved our spot from Sunday to Thursday, which means that we pretty much had the campground to ourselves, which was fabulous. We stumbled upon this campground last year when we were looking for a last minute reservation and this was pretty much the only campground available on the entire Oregon Coast. It's a diamond in the rough, I tell ya! It's on the Kilchis river, and about 20 minutes from the ocean, which is fine. We get to play in the river, fish if we want to, and then we can make the short drive to the ocean if we want to. That's what we did on Monday.

For the Northern Oregon Coast, on Monday, it was HOT. The kids had so much fun!

We were with two other couples, each of us with two kids. Monday night one of the moms gave the 5 older kids lollipops. They were messy, but that's what being a kid is all about, right?

Tuesday the clouds rolled in, so we spent the early part of the day at camp and down at the river. The kids just loved throwing rocks in the water and messing around.

We then went to the next town to check out a train and eat lunch. Oh look, a photo with my mug in it! At this point, it was starting to drizzle.....

It ended up pouring rain all of Tuesday afternoon/evening, which was fine. We did naps and dinner time, and because of the trailers and the awning and the easy-ups, etc., we didn't get soaked.

Wednesday the sun came out again and we played at the park that was just put in this summer.

One of Morgan's highlights of this trip was being able to ride her bike the whole time with her BFF Krysta. You should have seen their faces when new campers started rolling in and kids that were smaller than them started trucking over with their bikes, sans training wheels. It won't be long before Morgan discards hers! She was very curious about it all.

All in all we had a great trip! AND... we are headed back in a couple of weeks. Every two years we rent a house on the beach with Steve's parent's and his sister and her family who live in Idaho. And the house we rent is just on the beach, just North of where we played in the ocean. We leave on the 13th. Have I mentioned that we just love the beach!

Happy Saturday! If you haven't already, be sure to make a post here for some yummy Hambly, Heather Bailey, October Afternoon, and Prima goodies.

AND, if you are an SC subscriber and didn't get the add-on you wanted, couldn't afford to get all of the add-ons you wanted, etc., check out Kelly's blog. Looks like she's giving away two of them this weekend. Good luck!
