Seriously M.I.A.

Oy. I'm so done. If you have a really good excuse I could give Steve to get out of yet another camping trip I'd love to hear it. And I'm not kidding. I'm supposed to leave Wednesday for our last camping trip of the year, coming home Monday, and I have dug in my heels. Right now we are going Wednesday to Saturday, but even that seems far too long. I am seriously ready to stay HOME. By the time I've unpacked and finished laundry, caught up at work and on my scrappy deadlines, it's time to repack and leave again. I would like a day off!

We did have a great time at the beach with Steve's family, though. We spent time with my SIL who we don't see very much, and my girls had a blast with their older cousins. So it was worth it. I could have stayed a day or two longer, actually. But the upcoming trip is dry camping at a lake, which means I'll have to watch the water use, and my kids will be knee deep in dirty sand, not beach sand. Payton is 2, so this also means that it's days on end of digging in the dirt, so that means I'll be playing with her or sitting in my beach chair with a book. This is normally fine, but it gets old after a few days when your only break is to then make meals. It's exhausting.

Anyway.... sheesh.

Okay, so it was my turn again at the Pink Paislee blog. I was assigned a sketch so chose one from the July sketches at Pagemaps. You can check out that post here. This is my layout for that sketch. I love how I was able to pull the beach theme from the Vintage Moon papers. I am also in love with this die cut edge!

As you can read in my PP blog post, I didn't have any of the new Jenni Bowlin crepe paper ribbon, so I made my own with some leftover streamers from Payton's birthday party. An inexpensive way to create the same effect.

Be sure to check out this post at the Pink Paislee blog while you are there. Rebecca is giving away Pixee Stix!

Before I go I wanted to finally share some peeks from the September kit at Studio Calico. I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to play with my kit until just recently. It's such a fun kit, I must say. PERFECT for this month. You can easily create fall themed layouts, or you can jump right back to the beach. While I'll be out of town yet again so am going to miss all the fun, I'm sure reveal night will be a blast!

Have a great day! Davinie
