Hodge Podge of Scrappiness

Oh my gosh, I am so inspired by the comments I've seen about my family tree! LOVE the idea of having one in a baby's room, and I'm so glad I posted it so that those who wanted to use it for a Christmas idea would have time to create one. I honestly didn't think of that! lol

I just have a couple of projects to share with you today. I've had another busy week and my girls' now have the sniffles, so I am a little behind on the 'ole bloggity.

First is my take on a sketch Janine did for a challenge at the Studio Calico blog. I hope she does sketches more often because I had a lot of fun with this one! AND I scrapped a very recent photo, which I don't normally do, I'm so behind!

I've been seeing a lot stitched grids online and in magazines lately, so I had to try it for myself, stitcher that I am. I really like the texture it added and how it made use of the white space on this layout. I hope you'll give that challenge a try!

I also wanted to share a Pink Paislee layout with you today. I used the new Sweet Cakes line for this layout. I mixed in one of the recent stamps from my Studio Calico kits and made another border stamp with it. A fun element. I also used some Love, Elsie ribbon from my stash.... and BRADS. I used brads on the bottom of this layout, to give it some weight.

Need some Cosmo Cricket inspiration? Nic Howard contacted me about the weekly inspiration post at the Aussie Scrap Source blog and asked if she could use one of my cards for last week. I just checked it out and there's some inspiring projects with Cosmo Cricket's different products. Check it out!
Lastly I wanted to share my card for the 5th challenge at the Cardalicious challenge blog. This week we were challenged to use or be inspired by a file folder. I used one of the photo matts from Scenic Route, folded it in half, and made it a recipe card. This might be a fun take on the traditional Christmas card, and a way to share a fun family cookie recipe.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
