Pumpkin Pie, a Heart Necklace, and Glitter

... that's what Morgan is thankful for, according to her preschool project. LOL.

Isn't that the cutest thing? She's been very excited about pumpkin pie for a few weeks now, and the girl has never eaten pumpkin pie. To be honest, I don't think she'll even like it! But I guess this is my hint to make sure she gets a slice somewhere. lol

I saw Twilight last weekend with my sister. We never do anything together so it was really good. I don't usually go see a movie after reading the book, and because the movie just premiered, I won't spoil anything. I'll just say I went. And that I look forward to the next one. It was really nice to get out of the house and not have to feed, bathe, or put kids to bed. I love my girls dearly, but it's nice to have a little break.

We are leaving first thing on Thursday morning for my sister-in-law's house for Thanksgiving, and because all of Steve's family will then be together, I wanted to make a fun mini album. I am becoming more fond of the mini. I like the idea of tucking it away after the holiday and breaking it out again next year. I have a fun basket that I put them in, and it'll add to my holiday decor, and help break up the monotony of having the same albums to look at year round.

With that in mind I've been working on a "thankful" album for 2008. It started out as a project for a class I was going to teach at my LSS, but with the economy as it is, classes haven't been filling so I decided to take a step back for a bit. I had unexpected company which really messed with my chi this week, so I am behind on many of my deadlines, and am not finished with my album yet, but wanted to share the bare bones.

I'm using Cosmo Cricket's Mr Campy and some of the Sassafras Woodland Whimsy line with a chipboard tree album from Maya Road for this album. I painted the tree brown and for the cover I'm using some felt. I've picked out some Basic Grey sticker alphas to use too. I have trimmed paper in the shape of the tree leaves for each person and am going to let them write and decorate it however they want in response to the question "What are you Thankful for". I'll then be able to finish it up quickly when I get home and embellish it to use for decor next year. It should be fun to look at it again in 2009.

I also have a little Studio Calico sneak to share. I'll have a few more projects to share before I leave on Thursday. Remember, Thursday is also reveal night at Studio Calico, which will go as planned even though it's Thanksgiving.

Lastly, I just wanted to spread the Pink Paislee love with another bit of PP goodness. If you are wanting to go digital this year and are still on the hunt for the perfect Christmas card to send, you might want to check out the Pink Paislee blog. Holly has created a really cute digital holiday card, and it's free. Check it out here!

Have a great Monday! Davinie

  3. I just adore your work! Isn't it amazing what their little minds think of. My grandson is worried that the turkey is not going to be big enough. I have no idea how big he thinks it should be! His teacher told us the other day that he is such a caring child and he is worried that all the children in the world are not going to have turkey to eat, so maybe he thinks his turkey should be bib enough to feed the world. Hey, I just came up with a page title! Wishing you and your family a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!!!
