Halloween Inspo

Happy Friday! The first weekend of October is here and if you haven't already, it's time to dust off those fall/Halloween decoration boxes and make the house festive. If you don't do that already, you should, because it really sents a fun festive tone for the remainder of the year. Lighting a candle helps a lot too. Right now my house smells like Dutch Apple Pie. No wonder I'm hungry, lol.

I wanted to share a couple of Halloween projects with you today. First is my layout for my October article for True North Parentine Magazine. My article is about using a single photo on a layout. Last year at Halloween I took many, many photos, but this single photo encapsulated our day so well, that I thought I was the perfect photo to use to summarize our day.

My girls have been trick-or-treating with the same friends since they were born, and for the last couple of years, we've been getting photos of them against this brick wall near the parking lot of the shopping center where they trick or treat. I love these photos so much that I made a home decor item with a piece of barnwood and the photo I took in 2007:

You can find a photo and instructions on recreating this project on page 32 of the September/October issue of Paper Crafts magazine. Don't have it? You can pick it up at the Paper Crafts/CK online store and get 25% off until 10/12. Details here.

Lastly I wanted share a little peek at a class I'm going to be teaching at my LSS, Scrappin' Along, on November 5 at 6pm. It's a two page Halloween layout using the new Halloween line from American Crafts.

This class will be a lot of fun! If you are interested in signing up, please give Sherry at Scrappin Along' a call at 541-389-8187.

Have a great weekend! And be sure to check back tomorrow. It's World Cardmaking Day and I have a really great giveaway to go along with some card inspiration.
