Project 12 April in May

Must it be May already?  For pete's sake.
Let's talk about March.  Steve had a birthday in March.  Payton had a birthday in March.  Our furbaby Cooper had his birthday in March (he turned 10). 
Payton can now stop asking me why daddy is taller than me, but I am older than him.  In March we became the same age again.  :)

In March Becky provided us with a fun sketch.  Here's a reminder:

And this is what I came up with this month:

I used the May kit from Studio Calico, Lawn Party.  Very convenient, as it has been out on my desk all month. 

When I first got my kit this month, I trimmed out all the doilies from one piece of the SC paper (you can get more in the patterned paper add-on here - it's the B side to the chicken wire paper above).  When it came time to put my Project 12 layout together, I had a couple of spare doilies lying about, and they worked perfectly in this design. 

The chicken wire worked great for a March / Spring layout which also included chickens, wouldn't you agree!?  The 5 cent ticket also had double meaning, as March brought Payton's 5th birthday as well.  I love when embellies can work like that on a project. 

I used the same journaling block technique I snagged from ShellyJ a couple of months ago.  Love her.  This was another month where the journaling was random and worked better blocked off.

My title was misted with Applejack to stand out more.  That is my favorite Mister Huey green, that Applejack.

I love this one from the Paisley Petals blog.  I am really digging that Cosmo Cricket.  I need to get more of that line.  I adore the banner across the top and am really inspired by how she did the top left block, and trimmed the clouds rather than letting them hang over.  That just really inspires me. 

I highlighted this next one on the SCT blog for this month, but had to share it here too so I can have it as a reference.   I LOOOOVE this one from Agata: 

I am a huge fan of stitchery and clean lines, so this one speaks to me like nobody's business.  LOVE the yellow threads.  I also really like the punched flowers for the border.  Such a smart idea.  I also love that you can see her LIFE on this layout.  A new couch in March?  Love that.  It's something that needs to be documented.  The kids are going to refer to memories down the road based on the couch they were sitting on or the house they were living in.  These things need to be in your layouts!  :)
