Studio Calico Blog Blitz - CLOSED

Happy Monday!  How was your Easter?  We had our 6th Annual Easter function at my house.  I love how it has turned into a family reunion of sorts.  It's really the only time of year I see some of the family on my side, so what started as a way to introduce people to Miss Payton Jayne has turned into a fun annual event.  I'm already thinking of which home improvement projects Steve has to be finished with by the time we do this again next year.  ha!

I used a little of the new and a little of the old for this layout I made after our recent camping trip.

Layout:

I've been seeing this design all over the place on Pinterest, with these arrows/flags. It's very popular in home decor, so it's cool it's made it's way to paper projects.

To create them is very simple.  Trim a square.  I made mine 2x2.  Then trim the square on the diagonal, creating two triangular shapes.  I did both of these with my paper trimmer.  After that, take your scissors, and hand cut inside the triangle to cut the various widths, layer, and adhere.  I didn't use any adhesive save my sewing machine so I could bend some of them up to make it more dimensional. 

I adore this woodgrain.  I especially adore this woodgrain layered with Vanilla, rather than the other way around. It's a really lifelike woodgrain.
