I'm going to use them to sort my alphas. One letter in each drawer. And then because they were so inexpensive I bought a couple extras for other little embellies. As soon as my scrap room is finished and organized I'm going to put them on shelving, floor to ceiling.
The only problem with these little suckers is that you have to put them together yourself, and kid you not..... my eyes started to cross when I opened a box and a zillion pieces came out. And I bought 5! I'm going to save them for Steve. He's been out of town since last Friday morning, off to get the mighty elk. He has been calling every few days and is a bit irritated. Apparently the weather is too nice and he hasn't been finding what he's looking for. And there was a big wind storm that blew over a lot of trees, so he's pooped from all the hiking and climbing. He'll be home on Sunday. The girls miss him so much! Even 18 month old Payton has been running around saying "hold you Daddy!" all day.
In other scrappy news.... I made the 2008 Worldwin Team! Look to be inspired by cardstock! Here's one of my entries:
All of the product used on this layout is Worldwin except for the buttons, and my trusty DMC floss! Those pinwheels are perfect with the Doublemates paper because it is two different shades of the color family. Love that!
Another favorite manufacturer of mine is Scenic Route. Who doesn't love Scenic Route?! If you go to their site they do monthly product challenges. I decided to try it out with their Sumner challenge. While trying to decide what to do, I had that leaf paper in the brown and the cream/blue, and at first I was trying to decide between the two of them. But then I thought, what the heck, and trimmed out the blue leaves and layered them on the brown leaf paper over the brown leaves, because they were the same pattern. Apparently Scenic Route liked that idea too, because it was the featured layout for the Sumner challenge! Cool! And yesterday the Fed Ex man brought me a nice package full of the Loveland Collection! Paper, sticker alphas, chipboard.... yummilicious! Next month the challenge is chipboard circles. I am already brainstorming ideas for this one! Here's my layout:
Let's see.... have you popped over to Studio Calico yet? I'm still quite baffled as to why they chose me to design for them, but I couldn't be happier that they took the chance! April and Scarlet are BRILLIANT and have done such a great job with their kits, and the sense of community with the guys and gals who hang out at that site is so amazing! You really should stop by and say hello. We have so much fun there. Speaking of which.... I will soon have my hands on every little bit from the December kit... I got the kit and bought both add-ons... yes... 2.... and I am telling you. It's a must have. A MuST. There's a joke right now that it contains dancing rebel hunks. Really. There's a photo of Brad Pitt in the clues thread for the December kit contents. :) :)
I promise to update soon! I have a couple of cards in the works that were inspired by my kid's clothing.... another testament to the idea that inspiration is all around you! Have a great Thursday! Survivor and Grey's is on tonight!
What beautiful layouts. I love the little pinwheels. Great color and adorable kids!
