Studio Calico sneaks!

Yummy! The August kit from Studio Calico is delicious, and appropriately being called Confections. It looks girlie...... but really, it's so fresh. It's just perfect for those great summer photos.

Speaking of which.... on the message board the other day, someone was talking about black and white photos, and Waleska directed us towards a great conversion tutorial on Jessica Sprague's blog. Oh my heck it was so easy! As you can see below, I used it for the photos on one of my layouts. And I have to tell you.... I recently created a layout with this same photo and it just wasn't working for me. But then I used a few tips and tricks and turned it Sepia, and it totally changed the photo. And now it's perfect. So I highly recommend checking this out if you have any questions about b/w conversion:

Adventures in Black and White (And Sepia too!)

There were a couple of other good tips on b/w conversion and you can check out that thread at SC here.

This kit has some glitter, it has some flocking... it is a great kit for some fun new techniques. It also has a lot of die cut papers, which are really hot right now, and are a lot of fun to play with. And did we talk about stamps? Did I tell you that there may be more than one set of SC stamps in this kit? Hmmm. I don't remember.

Anyway.... I fly out at 6:37am tomorrow morning and I am getting excited! I have one more post with a couple of projects on it that I'll share before I leave. Otherwise, I'll see you from CHA! You might see me in a video or photo at the Pink Paislee booth. Otherwise I'll be walking the floors with Nic and Nik, my SC sandwich, lol.

Ooh. One more thing. Because I'm headed out on Thursday we had a date with the kids this morning and took them to the movies. Neither have been to the movies before, but I just learned about this program through Regal Cinemas. We saw Charlotte's Web. Morgan loved it, Payton wiggled a lot, but overall, everyone in the theater did great, and it was FREE! So, if you need something to fill your summer, and you have a Regal cinemas near you, take a peek at what lies ahead:

Free Family Film Festival

And wouldn't you know it! They are talking about that at SC too! I'm telling ya, if you haven't already checked out that message board, you really need to sign up. There is a wealth of information to be had there! And they are a fun and supportive bunch too!

That's it for me today! :)
