In the groove

Aiyiyiyi. Organization is NOT one of my specialties.
Just getting in the groove.
I'm the Registrar at Morgan's preschool and put the WRONG enrollment form in the orientation packets. I guess I shouldn't say wrong. I put the enrollment form, but not the registration form. I thought they were the same thing. WHOOPS. So that's nice.

Morgan's school starts this week. She's going to be going for three days a week as opposed to two last year. Wed-Friday from 9-11:30. And then she has tap on Wednesday's at 5:30pm. A terrible time. I was going to put her in soccer, but per a conversation on the SC board, it was confirmed that I was just trying to sign her up for too many things at one time. I'm not a competitive person in that respect... I was just trying to sign her up for activities so that she could play with other kids her age, but there was a scheduling conflict and then too many days a week for practice, so for this year, as she is just FOUR, we are doing just one activity. Her little cousin Raegan, aka Rae, is signed up too, so she's either going to do great, or get in a lot of trouble for playing. Either way, she's going to LOVe going to class this year. Perhaps she will then do the recital in June! lol
Yesterday I took the kids to get their fall/school haircuts. I normally cut Morgan's hair myself, but she said she wanted a shorter cut and I wanted to have them even it up for me.

PJ? Payton doesn't even like me to brush her hair, so I took her to the salon hoping they could help me come up with a low maintenance do that would look cute if it wasn't in a clip.

Oh my gosh, I know I need some serious photographic help here, but I wanted to share some of the shots I took in the salon. A couple of them were spontaneous ideas, both kids were having their hair cut at the same time, the lighting wasn't good, yada yada yada. Hey, maybe someday Morgan will actually LOOK at me when I take her photo. That does happen eventually, right? I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, but it's like pulling teeth with that girl especially.
Didn't their hair turn out cute! PJ is just adorable. My only concern is that some of the front layers get around her mouth, which means they get in her mouth, which means they get sticky. Her bangs are a little uneven too, but that's because she decided she was DONE and was fighint the stylist a bit. Kinda hard to use scissors around toddler eyes. Other than that, I am very happy with the results. So are they! The stylist put glitter in their hair. A perfect touch.

Other than that... Steve and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary last week. We've been dating since January of 1996 but got married in 2000. We were camping with some dear friends last week and were talking about our mutual friends, and came to realize that more than 50% of them have broke up or divorced. That's just nuts! It almost made me a bit paranoid. But then I realized how lucky I was to be on the other side of that equation. No troubles here. As a child of divorce, I am so happy to have that consistency in my life. I want my kids to look up to us like I look up to Steve's parents. I want to be that couple who have been married forever and are always in love. Anyway, I did a little layout about it with a photo taken of us at the river where we camped when we went to the coast last month.

Have a great week, my friends!

  13. The haircuts look adorable. Love your layout too. I just bought these Jenny Bowlin papers this past weekend....I don't understand why she made that one paper with the "74" on it. Makes no sense to me....otherwise though I loved this paper line...gorgeous colors.
