NSD with Studio Calico and Crate Paper

So much going on! I hope you have a chance to check out my other posts for today.
Project 12
Scrapbook and Cards

First I wanted to share my card for my NSD challenge at Studio Calico.
The challenge was to create a card, use woodgrain somewhere, the color blue, and a punch. This is what I came up with:

My woodgrain is the B side to Anthology's Periodical print. Both sides of that paper is delicious.

I got my tag idea from Lisa. I used my new photo labels punch and trimmed the bottom off the largest punch for these tags. So fun! They were punched from kraft. I then inked them using Antique Linen distress ink (the only distress ink I really use. The edges of the paper are inked with it too).

The honeycomb print is a Studio Calico exclusive to the Granny's Cupboard kit, as well as the alphas, brad, and flower. You can pick up the jute in the shop.
I hope you have a chance to play along! Remember, a $10 gift certificate is up for grabs! Be sure to visit all the Studio Calico designers for more challenges and more chances to win. Each of us has a gift certificate burning a hole in our pockets.
The list of all challenges for NSD at Studio Calico can be found here.
Nik and I will also be in the chat room at 8am PST if you want to join us! There's going to be chatting all day in the chat room so be sure to pop in and say hello.

Crate Paper is also participating in National Scrapbook Day, with a fun fun giveaway! I wish *I* could play along! Be sure to visit the Crate Paper blog to see how you can win a new I Pod! Wowee! You need to get there today if you want a shot at this prize!
I created a Crate paper layout to share with you today as well. I had fun mixing in a couple of manufacturers to show you how well Crate plays with others. That's always important, right?

I got those frames in my Joyland kit from Studio Calico and had to go out and buy more. They are so fun! See all those wee little "pixos" I have there? I used every plain art brad in the Paper Doll Collection for this layout, but I felt it was appropriate, right? Luckily I still have all the fun printed brads in the package to use on something else.
You'll also noticed an extra pink pattern at the bottom there. That's from Basic Grey's Green at Heart line. Perfect pink, isn't it.

I used some of my American Crafts Dear Lizzie fabric paper on this layout that was in my Granny's Cupboard kit as well. I had to trim strips again and distress the edges. I just really love the look. The alphas are also from this same kit. I thought everything mixed well with the Paper Dolls, and those little girls were perfect for this layout about my little girl.
Today's docket includes soccer games, a birthday party, and then home to craft!
Have a great day!
Davinie
