Project 12 April layouts in May

Hello May! This means there'll be flowers right? Miss Payton is still upset that it snowed on her birthday, when it was supposed to be Spring. Oy, the weather has been odd in these parts.

I took some time to go through the submissions on my blog for the Project 12 challenge in April and wanted to share some favorites.

First, here's the March sketch:

I love this one from Jenn. I love how she used that Dear Lizzy floral paper at the top, with a darker color as the base of the layout, as the dark colors create more "weight" and should go towards the bottom. But what I love most is that shamrock photo. This is a great example of things to use when you don't have a lot of photos. Perfect for March!

(Jenn was also the winner of the Thicker prize pack from American Crafts because she entered at SCT for a prize too. Congrats Jenn!)

I LOVE this one by another Jen (those Jen's know what they are doing!) I really like how she changed the sketch to add more journaling and how she made it symmetrical in the way she laid out her photos and even the use of the houndstooth brackets. That brown is fabulous too. NICE.


I absolutely love this one by Lisa. I loved the interpretation of the garland in this sketch so much I lifted the same idea for a layout I made for NSD. Such a pretty spring layout.

This one from Ann is gorgeous. I adore that scallop and really like the pattern she chose for the top as it fades to the cream color. I also like how she mixed black and white with color photos. Nice. Nice nice nice.

You know I love those calendar pages, so I had to share what yet another Jen did with hers this month. The clouds with the sun at the top is super cute! Love all the details.

Diane is still doing fun things with her album! I adore the pocket with the photo strip photos and how she is keeping track of her memorabilia too. What a fun album!

I know I've shared her work before, but this layout from Ally is smokin' hot! Love that she is using a 5x7 collage theme for her photos for the year, and the rest of the design is just super cool, as is the color palette.

Ooh. This one will be fun. It's a lot different from what we've been working with so far. Hmmm.
