Happy Summer, friends! It's your August installment of the Project 12 challenge. tada! :)
I had this post scheduled because I'm currently dipping my toes in the Pacific Ocean, which means I can't link the SC&T blog, but be sure to check my July 31 post at the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog to see if you won the prize for last month. That is also the spot to link your layouts if you want to enter for a prize this month (in addition to linking your layout to this post, anyway).
As always, a reminder of the June sketch:
And here's some June favorites:
I loved this one from Margy. First of all, it's baseball. Baseball! Perfect for summer. I adore the color palette and the stash papers she used. I also like the extras she added to the sketch. I like that she carried the diamond paper all the way across the layout, and I like those little red photo corners to add detail to the white space and bring in the red from behind the photos. Great visual triangle there. Thanks for playing along this month, Margy!
I love this one from Ashley! I love the interpretation of the sketch with the bling and the arrows, the visual triangle with the circle elements, the numbered bullet points, and I'm diggin' the apron lace border too. I also like the non traditional base paper color for this layout. I'm very inspired by this one!
Jennifer blew me away this month! I adore the use of banners on this layout and love that she included extra photos, and that she chose to do so with extra photos on the left side, rather than the right. There's so much to look at!
I am always so inspired after checking out what people have done with the sketches, and what people are doing en lieu of the sketches. I am so honored to have so many playing along, want you to know how much I appreciate you, and hope you get a lot out of this monthly challenge and are happy to be participating. Keep it up!
And now on to the next sketch:
I adore this sketch. Every little inch. As soon as that first load of laundry goes into the wash following our beach trip, I'll be on it.
Be here by the 20th! Davinie
Thanks, Davinie! I didn't really think about the "baseball" and "diamond" relationship until I'd finished it- I'm not that clever:)
