EEK! Look at me, I write!

I was recently approached and asked to write a scrapbooking article for a print and online parenting magazine in my area. After taking a peek at the website, I was immdetiately onboard, because I think every household with children in it should participate in some sort of papercrafting. I was also excited just to see a parenting magazine in my area! I don't live in a big Metropolitan area, but it is still nice to know what opportunities there are for my kids in my community. The site is this:

And if you click on A Mother's Day Card from the Heart you will see my little article on how to create this card:

I am very excited and honored to be included in this publication. I just wrapped up my article for the June issue, and I can't wait to share it! I made a summer mini album to gear you up for your summer vacation, and I really like how it turned out.

Tomorrow is National Scrapbook Day and I hope you get to do something crafty! We have been sick all week and tomorrow if everyone is feeling okay we are headed to a 4 year old birthday party. So not much crafting at my house. The theme is Hannah Montana. EEK! Morgan doesn't even know who she is yet, but I'm sure she will still have fun when the karaoke music comes on. Good. Grief. To contribute to the madness we bought her little friend some Hannah Montana sheets. That's always a good idea for a girl and a themed bedroom. Keep the comforter sweet and feminine, but let her show her personality on the sheets. Kids change their focus so quickly, and a sheet set is a way to pacify their interests while still staying affordable, right? My kids always have a thing for their pillowcase too. Payton got Hello Kitty for her birthday and of course Morgan's has to have a princess on it. But their comforters are pink. Eventually I want to make them quilts, but I'll just make them like a duvet cover and slip their comforters inside. That way I can change those out too.

Anyway.... we'll be drawing a name for some goodies on Sunday morning! Looks like there are more than 2 people who read this blog! lol Don't forget to go over to Studio Calico and register a username and post on the NSD thread saying I referred you.... a 6 month sub is worth more than $180!

Take care!

  1. Love the Mothers Day card! Much fancier than the one I made for myself (can't trust hubby to get organised, so I make the card and he gets the kids to write on it!). Have a great NSD! :D
