I decided to do a layout about the regret I feel for not dragging Steve over to London to travel with me for a week or so after I was finished with school. I was already there! I didn't go to France or Spain because I wanted him to travel with me, but now I wonder when I'll ever get there!
My journaling:
Steve, we should have done it.... after school was over we should have found a way to get you to England to travel with me for a week or two. Now we are married with children, have careers, a mortgage and a phone bill, scheduled vacations and a dog. We should have taken more time to explore the world while we were young and free, for I fear I'll be an old lady before the opportunity like a European vacation will be feasible again. It's an important lesson, to live life to the fullest and seize opportunities for adventure when you can. You never know what the future might hold.
Of course you should never live your life with any regrets, but that is one of mine. Now I have kids and can barely leave for the weekend without feeling guilt and missing them terribly. Oy. I WILL be an old lady before I attempt a European vacation without them.
Steve ended up catching the dreaded cold that I've had for the last MONTH, so we didn't end up going to the barbecue. It was fine though. He's so busy that even though we was sick, it was nice to just have him home.
Have a great Monday! Enjoy the rest of your long weekend. God Bless our troops!
Davinie, awesome layout. Your journaling is excellent. I guess everything happens for a reason. Maybe? Perhpas not having him there at that time will make the time you are together much more poignant, because I have a feeling you will get there together someday.
