Studio Calico's Masking and Misting at CKC Portland February 5-6

Do you live in the Portland area? Interested in taking a fun class?

Yours truly will be headed to Portland on Friday to teach a masking and misting class sponsored by Studio Calico. Doesn't that sound fun?

I just received the numbers today and there are still a couple of spots in each session. The first is almost full so if you have a group, try for the 1:30 class on Saturday.

Online registration is now closed but you can still register in Portland at the event.

I hope you will try and attend! The vendor faire alone is sure to be stocked with goodies as well. They need to replenish their stock at the beginning of the year, and February and the Portland CKC marks the first event of 2010.

I just double checked with Miss Kelly, and there's a good chance that you might see a bit of this if you head to the Vendor Faire for a little shopping:

Yum. New Basic Grey.

Studio Calico won't have a booth at the vendor's faire, but I have a couple of giveaways, including product and add-on kits, so look forward to that!

Below is a link for a $3 coupon on admission to the Vendor Faire:

Enjoy!

I am teaching a masking and misting class at this event. This type of class will be a lot more fun if you have your photos with you, so I wanted to make sure if you were headed to Portland you have the photos you need.

In this class we will be doing two layouts, and the first layout required 3 photos that will be trimmed to size 3x3. The theme of this layout is favorite things, so you might choose photos of three of your favorite things, a photo of your pet or your child with two other photos of their favorite things, etc.

The second layout requires one 4x6 horizontal photo. The color scheme and theme of the paper used for this layout involves this color palette, so think spring or summer photos:

And here is one of the layouts I will be teaching in the class, using the 4x6 photo:

There are several thicker shapes to choose from for your misting. April and Maggie used the strawberry and the pear shapes. I decided to go with waves to show you that you can create a layout and customize it to your photos.

Doesn't it look fun! Studio Calico fans will be happy, because your class kit also comes with a coupon t0 use for shopping fun at StudioCalico.com

I hope to see you on Saturday! Be nice to me! This is my first CKC class and I am very excited and nervous at the same time. SC members/subscribers: Please be sure to let me know your username, etc. I hope to get a group photo too, if there's time.

I'm so glad I walked over to say hi to you at the class. I was just picking up the class kit to work on it at home. You are lovely in person, just like I pictured you through your pages. Nice to have met you!

  14. Davinie, Just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration in class! I ended up using the masking technique on another layout: http://jenwaters.blogspot.com/2010/03/good-grief-use-alphabet.html

It was a great way to use (and re-use!) alpha letters. :)
