Studio Calico - Stamping Markers and Summer of 69 Sneaks

My last Studio Calico sneaks are on the blog!  Such a bittersweet moment.  Except for the debut there hasn't been a kit without my work in the DT gallery.  It's going to be so weird!  I've participated in much of the success of this once little kit club.  My poor UPS man is going to have withdrawals, not delivering those boxes to me every month.  He's posed for photos more than once.  HA!

I got two add-ons this month.  #1 Five & Dime, and #3, Drive-In.  I usually get more SC paper so I can have more to cut up on, lol, and this month was no exception.

First, my Main kit only sneak:

I have been posting my work on Instagram ( @davinie), so if you are a follower you know that I made a Silhouette file for this layout.  I'll link it after Reveal when I can share the whole project.

This next sneak is made with #3, Drive-In:

I am in LOVE with the Cross-Stitch paper in this add-on.  It's from Clever Handmade and was designed by Heidi Grace.  Remember her?  LOVE.  It's thick and I had no trouble using it for my layout.  I used to cross-stitch all the time when I was a little girl so it was fun to do so again for this project.

Next is the reason you need #1, Five & Dime.  The Chevron stamp:

How did I do this?  American Crafts markers.

Before I got into scrapbooking I used to make elaborate Christmas cards with stamps (shocking, I know, as I am not a huge stamper).  We'd use stamp markers to color all over the image in various colors and stamp it on our card base.  Santa in front of a house or a snowman wearing a scarf and a sweater with a bird and a broom, etc.  Crazy/elaborate stamps.  This was years ago, as in...  probably 1997.  I was never super good at it, it drives me nuts when the image wasn't crisp yet it'd take so long to color the image that when I got married and had kids and got into traditional scrapbooking, this type of stamping became a way of the past.  I also stopped making Christmas cards and started ordering photo cards instead.  ha!

However, last month I saw the AC markers in the shop and decided to give it a go.  I'm hooked!  I know in this image the chevron isn't crisp, but that's for two reasons.  1. I didn't prime the Chevron first.  That stamped image is the first image I made.  Second, it is textured card stock.

I used the primary color set from the shop because it worked well with the current kit.  I have since gone back and picked up aqua.  Teal is a common SC color in the kits and this marker would make a great addition to your stamp ink stash.

I will be stamping with markers more often, I tell you what!

Lastly is a little something I made using vellum from the shop:

Good luck getting the add-ons you are after!  I'll be back with projects, that cut file, and a tutorial too.  Have a great day!  Davinie
